From the Library of Jerrold Northrop Moore. Comprising two albums, the Country Life extract, 3 tempera paintings by Maxwell Armfield Armfield, loosely inserted photograph of Mrs George Napier. 'The house was restored by Hon Mrs George Napier (1850-1926) who bought the property in 1922 and features in Pevsner's Buildings of England series. Restoration work took place under the guidance of George Crawley, with later additions in 1937 by Walter Godfrey.' Old Surrey Archives.'In 1933 I showed the result of several years' work in landscape records of England, the subjects of which were places owned by the National Trust .'
