Erstausgabe
Cloth. Zustand: Very Good Indeed. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: Very Good. Not Stated (illustrator). First edition. A delightful first edition copy of this extension of the Alice in Wonderland stories, written in the style of Lewis Carroll. A scarce first edition. Held institutionally in only six UK libraries. In the publisher's charming striped cloth binding, with the original unclipped dust wrapper. With a frontispiece and numerous delightful illustrations throughout, in the style of John Tenniel. Complete with the half title page. 'More 'Alice'' is an extension of the Alice in Wonderland stories, written by Yates Wilson, in the style of Lewis Carroll. The work was created following a request from Wilson's daughter who, when ill and having listened to the two famous Alice stories, had asked for more 'Alice'. In this story, Alice, who has not quite recovered from an illness becomes light-headed and makes a fantastic tour of her own bedroom. Although set in the classic Victorian period, there is some intentional satire on certain aspects of modern life. In the original full cloth binding. Externally, very smart with light shelf wear to the extremities. The odd small mark to the boards. Light offsetting to the free endpapers. The original unclipped dust wrapper is in very smart condition. Some shelf wear to the edges and some chipping to the spine. Spine is slightly darkened. A few light marks to the panels. Some age-toning and spotting to the upper spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages very bright and clean with a few scattered spots throughout. Very Good Indeed. book.
