CONTENTS DESCRIPTION: Very nice publication from the noted Scottish entrepreneur, John Clay, who became a leading cattle rancher and leader in the North American cattle trade was printed in a small number for friends. Clay is best know for his autobiography My Life on the Range. Not noted in Eberstadt, Decker, or Adams Herd. This work describes the people and places in his early days "in a simple country that knew little of the great outside world." As for the inscription: Roy Stebbins was a cattle rancher in Montana and authored a book on the drying of hay. His son Dean, was a noted physics professor at both Iowa State and Michigan Technological Universities. REFERENCES: GRAFF 749.
