Front hinge is broke and re-glued, and half title page is loose, though laid in place. Folding map shows a few small tears along folds, and a previously taped closed tear. This is a complete and solid copy that would makes for better reference/reading than for collecting.

Aldwych is a place and road in the city of Westminster in London. This work follows the history of the redevelopment plans at the turn of the twentieth century and the local history of the area. John Ashton, writing under the pseudonym Charles Gordon, had previously published similar texts on areas in London including The Old Bailey and Newgate. In a gilt cloth binding. Externally, rubbed. Bumped to extremities. Book is cocked. Hinges tender. Internally, binding tender. Pages generally clean with the occasional spot. Closed tear to fold out at page one. Good. book.
