Como dice Sánchez Alonso, Diego Andrés Rocha «pone al servicio de su hallazgo, por el que muestra una ingenua satisfacción, la erudición que tiene a su alcance, exponiendo primero las opiniones distintas que había y después todos los textos y componentes de la suya». La mayor parte de libro de Diego Andrés Rocha está dedicado a presentar y defender dos tesis muy diferentes entre sí: la de que los indígenas americanos descendían de los españoles y la que señala a las diez tribus perdidas de Israel como las que dieron origen a la población del Nuevo mundo. La primera de esta tesis tan singular por otra parte sólo se explica si tenemos en cuenta la necesidad de hallar títulos suficientes que justificasen la posesión de aquellas tierras por parte de los españoles.
