Knowledge is never complete because something more can be added always to the existing knowledge and so there can be no complete knowledge about anything and so thought arising from limited knowledge can never be complete. As far as material things are concerned this system works but thought has invaded the psyche and is trying to solve the problems according psychological memory. It created religions, god, beliefs, superstitions; dogmas which cannot solve the present mental problem. To deal with a fact insightful perception is the right instrument. Thought has no place whatsoever to play in psyche. The contents of consciousness are formed because of thought. They must be emptied of mind urgently through silent perception. Silent mind is a living mind. Mind that is filled with thought matter is a dead mind. So in self-inquiry we understand the role of dead past and so it is never allowed to interfere in the investigation of "active present" and so past is kept where it should be and make mind alive, still and sensitive again.
