[4], i-iv, 185,[2] pages. This is the very first edition of a work re-printed in 1964 by Georgetown University Press. It is a typescript apparently published by xerox. Garvin a professor at Georgetown. The Georgetown Institute of Languages and Linguistics is thanked on the last page. Some pen and penicil markings by different hands, one marginal note. The tape label has a chip, and the rear of the binder has a closed slit about 1 ½ inches long at one end. This is one of the very earliest appearances of Structuralism and the Prague School in English. Saussure was translated ten years later.
