Wheeler, signed, dated August 18, 1876, on the front pastedown. The binding very worn but holding, the paper browned, light foxing on the endpapers. A former owner tried to remove the presentation plate, quit after removing about 12% of it. A poor copy.

The large map shows an unusually large portion of the West, including the portion of Nevada south of Battle Mountain and Elko, parts of California including Death Valley, and reaching to San Bernadino and the Sierra Nevada, with a cross-section of Arizona.
