This volume would pave the way to cater the needs of the aged and also for the welfare of the aged in the country. About The Author: Venkateswarlu Vankayalapati, (b. 1968) is an asstt. Professor and Asstt. Coordinator in the Department of Sociology and Social Work, Acharya Nagarjuna University. A devoted researcher with diverse areas of interest ranging from Ageing, Gender Issues, Demography, Health Aspects, Human Rights and AIDS. Dr. Venkateswarlu did his Postgraduate and received his doctorate in Sociology from Andhra University. He did his Master of Population Studies (M.P.S.) and received M.Phil., degree from International Institute for Population Studies (I.I.P.S., Mumbai). He published three books in addition to 30 research papers and articles in National and International Journals. He has to his Credit Association with two collaborated research projects sponsored by U.G.C. He has also participated in more than 30 seminars and conferences. Dr. Venkateswarlu also actively involved in administrative affairs i.e. working as Incharge Chief Warden for Boys Hostels for the last several years.
