SECOND STAGE in blind at base of front cover. 187 pages with many illustrations. 2 folding plans at end. Blue cloth lettered in gold on front cover and with gold medallion. Tight text is a bit thumb marked. Book spine worn and mottled. Book is in good double plus condition with noticeable signs of wear and/or age.

Hardcover. Blue cloth, gilt letters and decoration on front cover, 187 pp., many BW and color plates, 2 fold-outs. Title on front cover: The Christopher Columbus Memorial Lighthouse Competition. Presents contending architectural designers for the planned memorial for Columbus in the Dominican Republic. The competition was eventually won by Scottish architect Joseph Lea Gleave (1907-1965); and his depiction can be seen here on page 29. Unfortunately, the Gleave didn't get to see the finished product. The lighthouse was not built until the 1980s and dedicated in 1992, 500 years after Columbus "discovered" America. Uncommon. G (Light foxing on spine and outer covers; interior is clean.).

Clean tight text in sound covers which are a bit marked. Book is in very good minus condition with minor but noticeable signs of wear and/or age.

Softcover. Zustand: Good. First Edition. Soft cover book in good condition. The outside of the book has ware around the edge of the paper wrap covers. Small chips in the spine missing at the top and bottom, fraying of spine. Inside is clean and tight. There are some pencil markings in book. Former owner's name plate inside book, Parker Morse Hooper. Front cover reads 'first stage' in bottom right corner.

Cloth. Zustand: Near Fine. First Edition. A very solid copy of the 1930 1st hardback edition. Clean and Near Fine in its deep-blue cloth, with bright gilt-titling and insignia at the front panel. Light bumping to the front panel's lower-tip, otherwise clean as could be. Folio, hundreds of very creative black-and-white (mostly) reproductions throughout.
