Zustand: Good. First Edition. First Edition. Original brown boards, good with sign of wear to covers and extremities. Spine is loosely held from rear cover, contains some foxing to end papers. Overall copy is complete however this being Volume 2, only.

1st US Edition. second issue. ix, [2], 10 - 287; iv, [5] - 275, [1 (blank)] pp. Bound in 6s. 6-5/16" x 4" Square & tight. Covers quite foxed, with light foxing to paper. Vol. 1 has small abrasion to the right edge of the top board. Overall, a VG set. Linen cloth bindings with printed black lettering. Cover date of 1840.

Hardcover. Zustand: Near Fine. Rebound in recent half morocco, gilt titles and decorations to the spines. The leather is smart, the boards with the odd mark and some deckling to the cloth of the front board of volume I. The odd small mark. All edges sprayed blue. Renewed blanks and endpapers. Contemp. ownership inscription to the title page of volume I. THe bindings remain firm, leaves a touch toned and offset opp. plates, with the odd spot. Illustrated with engraved portraits, Volume I complete with four, volume II with three. A lovely little set in a 20th century binding.
