Considers the life and work of Italian painter and architect Raphael (1483-1520), and was issued on the occasion of the 400th anniversary of his death. Includes many illustrations of his artwork and architectural details. This copy appears to have been presented to American artist Will Hutchines (1878-1945) in Rome in 1920, given to him by a group of students who signed their names on an opening page. Hutchins's name appears on the first flyleaf with a note underneath that the volume was bound in Washington in 1922. These dates seem to coincide with Hutchins's movements. If only the pages could talk.
