Their results suggest that the renal circulation can…be clamped for up to forty minutes without causing permanent damage to kidney function or tissue. In contrast, clamping the renal vessels for longer periods, particularly an hour, leads to the death of the animals, accompanied by clinical signs of renal insufficiency. The book also highlights that temporary interference with renal circulation affects renal function, as evident in the presence of albumin and casts in the urine, reduced phthalein output, and delayed lactose and iodid excretion. However, normal function is regained within six days. Overall, this book provides valuable insights into the effects of temporary occlusion of renal circulation on renal function, contributing to the understanding of the impact of renal surgery on kidney health.
