Schaeberle, an astronomer with the Lick Observatory in California who undertook an expedition to Mina Bronces, Chile, at the behest of the University of California, to record the astronomical phenomenon. The team's findings are recorded in this illustrated work, and although the total eclipse was certainly of great interest to many people, this report is a scientific study and not presented for the general public. First edition. Illustrated with ten monochrome plates, collated complete. An excellent achievement in observatory astronomy, this report offers a scientific insight into one of the most visually astonishing phenomenons of space. In the publisher's original binding. Externally, very smart, with only some minor cocking, handling marks to the boards, and some shelf wear to the head and tail of the spine. Internally, generally firmly bound, strained in places.
