The damage to the jacket does not detract from the attractiveness of its illustration to both wraps. Its intrinsic state has been protected in Brodart so that it can be handled without further damage. Katchadourian was an Armenian artist who died in Paris the year after this book was published. FitzGerald's lyrical meditation on 'human death and fate'. Rubáiyát of Omar Khayyám is the title that Edward FitzGerald gave to his 1859 translation from Persian to English of a selection of quatrains attributed to Omar Khayyam, dubbed "the Astronomer-Poet of Persia".
