Magazin / Zeitschrift Erstausgabe
Magazine. 80p. including covers, 11x13 inches, illustrations, photos, articles, mild wear, oversized weekly magazine on newsprint, very good in stapled pictorial wraps. Second issue of the new incarnation of City of SF. The first 8 volumes the editors were never really certain what they wanted the magazine to be. Investor Coppola took over, put out a prototype to get new advertisers and in July 1975 published the new issue continuing the volume and issue numbering for consistency. Second installment of Fante's new novel, "Brotherhood of the Grape" is included and is the first appearance anywhere.
Pictorial wrappers, very fine. Provenance: Jeanette Bonnier (1934-2016). London, Thames and Hudson, 1977. 116 pp. including two foldouts. Profusely illustrated. Photographs by Wolfgang Vols. A record in words and pictures of Christo's Running Fence, which ran across 24 miles of farmland in Marin and Sonoma Counties, California. The fence was made of 2050 panels of nylon fabric strung from 18-foot steel poles, and emerged from the sea and disappeared into the sea again at each end. Wit text by Werner Spies, photographs by Wolfgang Volz. 127 illustrations in all, 13 in colour. - - - Exhibition at Museum Boymans van Beuningen, Rotterdam 9. 7.-28. 8. 1977, Rheinisches Landesmuseum Bonn 15. 9.-31.10.1977, Kestner-Gesellschaft Hannover 25. 11. 1977-8.1. 1978, Louisiana Museum of Modern Art Humlebaek, Denmark 21. 1.-26. 2.1978, Henie-Onstad Art Center, Hövikodden, Norway 28. 3.-30. 4. 1978, Kunstgewerbemuseum der Stadt Zurich 3.6.-6.8.1978, Société des Expositions du Palais des Beaux-Arts de Bruxelles-Vereniging voor Tentoonstellingen van het Paleis voor Schone Kunsten van Brussel Septembre-Octobre, 1978, Musée de Grenoble Novembre-Décembre 1978.
