P attribuendae non solum eae lectiones, quas Peter notavit signo PS sed multae etiam quas secundae manus (P2) esse existimavit; omisit enim distinguere eos locos, quibus ipse codicis scriptor errata agnovit atque aut statim aut panilo post correxit. Mommseni igitur et Dessaui exemplo designabo nota P et B lectiones primae manus mendosas, Pb et Bb eadem manu correctas. Ceterum Peter in tertia, quam promisit, editione multo magis mutabit adnotationem criticam quam ipsum textum, propterea quod codex P multo etiam simihor est cod B quam antea putabatur. Neque tarnen desunt, quae corrigenda smt adhibita Dessaui collarone, atque in orthographicis rebus Peter non ita raro au neglexit codicum auctoritatem aut iniuria praetulit cod. B. Quod igitur textum nonnumquam emendare potui, id magna ex parte Dessaui est mentum cui viro et doctissimo et Immanissimo magnam me gratiam et debere et habere libentissime profiteer.
