In den WarenkorbRevised edition. Folding chart, mounted on linen and pasted into original publisher's cloth boards, paper lettering-piece. A little rubbed and marked, some splitting to joints of boards, some darkening to lettering-piece; the folding chart itself is remarkably clean but for a single pencilled correction, and slight occasional lifting from the linen backing at folds. The earliest located copy - nevertheless advertised as 'revised' - of an attractive folding chart providing a basic introduction to the use of semaphore, compiled for the use of those wishing to rapidly acquire a working knowledge of a most useful method of signalling by Henry Reginald von Donop Hardinge (1878-1956), officer of the 4th Infantry, Hyderabad Contingent, India. The paper lettering-piece to the upper board suggests that this eminently practical production was available in three issues: 'In Sheet 4d'; as here, 'Mounted on Linen and folded for Pocket 1s', and a luxury edition for display: 'Doubled Mounted and folded in sections for Pockets, with eyelets for hanging 1/6'. OCLC and COPAC together record a single copy of a 1907 edition (Oxford), with 'made easy' added to the title (as it is, here, on the title label to upper board). Two copies are recorded of another edition presumed to have been printed in 1908 (Cambridge and NLS). Apart from this copy, no editions issued prior to 1907 appear extant in the usual databases. Size: Dimensions 360 x 560mm, folded to 100 x 146 mm.
