A fair copy in contemporary dark brown calf, scratched and with loss of leather at the head-fore corner of the front cover, no pastedown endleaves but with the stubs of the free endleaves free as originally left; With the signature of John Shepherd dated 1785 on the rear fly-leaf and the signatures of Nicholson Kitchen and John Kitchen of Bennethead, Cumberland on the front flyleaf. Containing articles on Baudy-houses [sic] frequented by wise men; Cries of London require some regulation; Drinking, a rule proscribed for it; The hen-pecked husband described.

Full Leather. Zustand: Good+. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: No Dust Jacket. No date, though circa 1740s. Issues No. 170 (Friday, September 14, 1711) to 251 (Tuesday, December 18 of the same year). Indexed at rear. Full tree-calf leather with gilt lettering and decoration on spine. Red and black spine bands. "Mary Woodward" is inked and ink stamped on front paste down, and inked on title page and top of first issue. Very light other wear. Overall an attractive, tight, and crisp copy.
