Buch
Paperback. Zustand: Very Good. The first authorised biography of one of Britain's best-loved sportsmen. Sir Stirling Craufurd Moss raced professionally over 500 times until his near fatal crash in 1962. At the end of his racing career, he was the most famous Briton - no footballer, jockey, boxer or pop star has approached the national adulation Moss received. In this book Robert Edwards recounts the life of this extraordinary man, whose tally of wins was proportionately higher than that of any other driver, ever, by a wide margin. During his colourful racing career, Stirling Moss was incredibly gifted and competitive, and he has talked in detail to Robert Edwards about his eventful life, from the bullying at school which helped forge his competitive spirit to the crash that almost ended his life. The book has been read, but is in excellent condition. Pages are intact and not marred by notes or highlighting. The spine remains undamaged.

"The first authorized biography--with over 350 color photos--of an extraordinarily gifted and competitive sportsman. Stirling Caulfield Moss drove professionally in nearly 500 races until his near-fatal crash in 1962. By the end of his career, he had become racing's most famous and most adored celebrity. Moss's tally of wins was proportionally higher than any other driver's, ever, by a wide margin. From his first race in 1948 to his last, heady days of the early 60s and beyond, his life and career unfold in great detail: the family history and school days; his start on the track and entrance into the big league; his experience driving for Mercedes; the private races; and the crash and recovery. And, because the author enjoyed free range over every aspect of Moss's life, many of the amazing stories here have never been told before." - publisher.

A slight crease to the extreme upper corner of the front panel of the jacket and a similar one to the rear. The jacket has not been price-clipped. A very good well preserved double flat signed copy. First edition, first printing. Published by Cassell in London, 2001. This is a near fine copy. The dust wrapper is slightly bumped at the corners and has few small chips to the top edge. It has not been price clipped. The boards are free from chips and marks and the textblocks are bright throughout. Moss's signature is inscribed to 'John, enjoy!' and Edwards is flatsigned in black ink. Overall, this is a near fine copy of a fine dual signed title. The authorised biography of motorsport legend Sir Stirling Moss.
