This is a collection of 12 essays by the author written or delivered as addresses over a period of 25 years (to about 1950) and showing his interests in and contribution to the development of social anthropology. Radcliffe-Brown was influenced in his approach by the work of Durkheim and by Whitehead earlier. There's a short introduction by Evans-Pritchard and Fred Eggan.
