Several black and white photos of leaders present. An informational flyer announcing a public meeting to be held at the Africa Room of the International House in Philadelphia. The flyer discusses alleged criminal acts and behavior by two people who were part of the African People's Socialist Party's Philadelphia organization, Mshindi Shabazz (Victor McDavis) and Kentake Nzapa (Bonita Worley). The flyer alleges that Shabazz created an illegal center of power that rivaled the Central Committee of the African People's Socialist Party, stole items from the Philadelphia organization, threatened violence and made slanderous accusations. The meeting was initiated so that the African People's Socialist Party could explain to the community what was going on within the party. Participants included Omali Yeshitela, Ousainou Mbenga, Kinara Zima, Akua Njeri, Penny Hess and Kamau Becktemba. The African People's Socialist Party is a US based organization that formed in 1972 from the merger of three smaller Black Power organizations. While initially focused on Black Power, the African People's Socialist Party's ideology has moved more toward the goals of Pan-Africanism.
