Zustand: Good. 1943. 287 pages. No dust jacket. Blue cloth. Inscription to front endpaper. Pages are lightly tanned and thumbed at the edges, with light foxing. Binding has remained firm. Boards are a little rub worn, slight shelf wear to corners, spine and edges. Corners are a little bumped. Spine ends are mildly crushed. Tanning to spine and edges.

This collection features novels in original publisher's cloth binding, with the original, charming dust wrappers, all of which are unclipped. This is a collection of novels published by Cassell and Company between 1924 and 1950. Beloved Enemy, Sunrise and Repent at Leisure are all first editions of the works. This edition of The Great Way is the new and popular edition, with the novel being first published in 1921. Flaming Felicia was first published in 1934. Anne Duffield was born to Canadian parents, but moved to England, marrying and settling in Essex and then Wiltshire. Duffield wrote fifty-two novels between 1928 and 1960. Author of The Great Way, Horace Fish, died in 1919, not long after publishing this final work. These novels explore themes of romance, excitement and the meaning of happiness. Duffield's works are set in a number of different locations, including England, Berlin, Sweden and Lisbon. Many of Duffield's novels surround the theme of the Second World War.Book binder's stamp of Golder, Reading, to the front endpaper of Repent at Leisure. The Great Way dust wrapper in good condition, with loss to the front flap and discolouration, with the odd tear. Tape to the rear of the wrap of The Great Way. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean with the occasional mark. Binding slightly loose but holding firm to the head of Beloved Enemy at page 19. Very Good Indeed. book.
