First Edition. 1st Editions 1945-1953 Five novels by Scottish Novelist Stuart Hunter with presentation inscriptions to each volume to his daughter Elsa. Stewart Hunter was born in Glasgow in 1915 and educated at Allan Glen's School. He worked in the engineering business before becoming a writer. At the time he was highly praised for his understanding of people and the characters he portrayed in his books. This appears to be the only novels he ever wrote. Most are dramas set in mid 20th century Scotland around Glasgow and local villages. Titles are The Revenant, The Singing Sky, The Good Company, The Cry of the Wind and the Happiest Hour. Books are very good and in quite bright condition. Odd marks tot eh cloth. Contents are good. The wrappers are generally very good and bright. Edges rubbed in and nicked in places.
