Erstausgabe
Zustand: Very Good. First Edition. Octavo, green cloth with gold lettering on the spine, xiv, 235 pp., bibliography, errata Inscribed by the author on the free front endpaper. Dora Askowith was a member of the inaugeral class of Stephen Wise's Jewish Institute of Religion which was the first Rabbinical school to accept women (even though they did not ordain women for another two generations). She was a pioneer among Jewish women in the struggle to become Rabbis. Though it was not her goal initially, her rejection from the Ordination track when she did choose that path was an important moment. It came after the publication of this substantial piece of scholarship.
