Hardcover. Zustand: Very Good. Second printing. 368; 365pp. Octavo [24cm]. Bound in blue cloth; gilt stamped lettering on each spine and front board. Top edge gilt. Light bumping and scuffing to the spine ends and corners. Spines are a bit toned and soiled and mildly rolled. Twain's last work, intended to be published posthumously and not compiled into publishable form during his lifetime (1835-1910). His wish was that the full autobiography not be published until the 100 year anniversary of his death. This edition contains approximately two-fifths of the material found in the massive three volume edition first published in 2010. Alfred Bigelow Paine was a close friend of Twain, and held exclusive access to his literary estate for a time.
