Early reprint (first published by Harper & Brothers in 1924). Issued with a slipcase and dust jackets but those are not present. Hardcover: H 24.25cm x L 16.25cm. Uniformly bound in dark red cloth; light sunning/color fading to spines with slight fraying and wear at ends, light rubbing to boards, gilt stamping to front boards and spines still fairly bright but not vibrant. Gilt top edge; toning to deckle fore-edges. Some foxing and or toning to endpapers; foxing strongest on several initial and terminal leaves of both volumes but with scattered mostly light occurrences to interior leaves. Bindings are firm. Still an attractive very good- set. Please note that this set has an approximate shipping weight of 5 pounds (2.26 kg) and will require additional postage for any postal class other than domestic Media Mail.

Two volumes in maroon cloth with gilt spine lettering, top edges gilt, tissue protected frontis plate in each volume, title pages in red and black, publisher's original printed slipcase. Includes some publisher advertising tucked into the front of the first volume. Spines slightly faded with some wear to the spine heads, minor spots to top of one front cover, otherwise very good with good hinges, tight bindings, very clean pages, no names or other markings. The slipcase is shelfworn and has a chipped and ragged open edge, but structurally sound. Hard Cover. Good/Fair Slipcase. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.

DJ's fair only; staining along spines. Loss at V1 DJ tail and at V2 DJ head, and a nickel size triangular shaped whole in middle of V2 DJ spine. A bit of light soil to DJ panels. Slipcase quite worn, soiled.
