In den WarenkorbBradbury (1920-2012) writes to Robert and Blanche Campbell, owners of Campbell's Bookstore, responding to an invitation to the couple's fiftieth wedding anniversary reception and expressing his regrets: "I'll be up at the Santa Barbara Writer's Conference next week-end [.] So this letter must substitute for my presence, and I send you my friendliest affections and high regard, and the hope that you true book-lovers make it through at least another 25 years, by Gosh! How wonderful to see the two of you before all of us as a good example of humanity, plus having the extra quality that makes you indispensable to all of us crazy literateurs." Bradbury was a longtime patron of Campbell's Bookstore, located in Westwood, across from the UCLA campus. Typed on an 8 1/2" x 11" sheet of Bradbury's personal letterhead and boldly signed ("Ray") and dated ("June 16, 1973"). Folded into thirds for mailing, and accompanied by the original mailing envelope.
