In den WarenkorbSoft cover. Zustand: Very Good. Amie Carey was devoted to drama from a young age. She attended West Morris Mendham High School in New Jersey, where she dedicated herself to the theatre department and soon headed west to pursue her acting career in earnest, earning a BA in acting from USC. She seemed to have all the right tools f…or success, yet was consistently just shy of a major break. Her marked-up early printings of scripts, many for films that became '90s classics (like My Best Friend's Wedding!), show a hardworking young actress studying for roles that could have changed her life. Though she never quite reached Julia Roberts-level fame, Carey sustained a modest career with roles such as Sooze in SubUrbia (1996) and Nurse Marciela Keith on Chicago Hope (1994-2000). Throughout this period she read for numerous major films, leaving behind an interesting and unusual collection of original screenplays that document the everyday realities of a young woman fighting for her foothold in '90s Hollywood. Contains: B & W publicity photo of Amie and 13 scripts : "Mimic". Written & directed by Guillermo del Toro, cowritten by Matt Robbins. Rev. by Matt Greenberg, Steven Soderbergh and John Sayles. In den Warenkorb[MEXICO & TEXAS]. Three-ring quarto cloth binding, titles stamped in gilt on the front cover, 53 unnumbered plastic leaves that hold 105 - 5" x 7" silver gelatin photographs, nearly all stamped with Weston's name on verso, and others with pencil notations and inventory numbers, and occasionally prices in either dollars or pesos.… Also laid-in is a tattered onionskin typed price list for "Group Photo No. 81 providing descriptions and prices for ten pistol types. An uncommon sales sample photo archive for Weston?s Mexican Art Shop in Mexico City, which during the 1940?s and 1950's was a popular shopping place for American tourists in Mexico. The majority of the images focus on the extraordinary range of historic firearms offered for sale by gunsmith and historic expert, Tom Weston. Intermixed amongst the brimming display cases which held such historic firearms as Maximilian's 18-shot pinfire revolver, and General Santa Ana's chased revolver, these images show music boxes, watches, Mexican blankets, leather goods, souvenirs, furnishings, walls burgeoning with paintings and photographs, and more. This exceptional sales sample photograph archive offers an exceptional visual record for the thriving firearms and souvenir market in Mexico City in the Mid-20th Century. Established originally in the 1880's by Thomas Gardner Weston, Weston's was located on Avenida Francisco I. Madero, considered by many in the 1940's to be the most Americanized of the Capital streets, with the Art Deco Hotel Ritz nearby, as well as travel agencies including Wells Fargo and Thomas Cook. For antiquities, jewelry, firearms, Mexican curios, genuine Aztec jewelry and artifacts. Weston's Mexican Art Shop not only offered an exceptional stock, but also shipping services anywhere in the world for those who liked to shop and items priced in U.S. Dollars. Tom Weston had been educated in San Antonio, Texas, and would eventually expand the family business, but also became a noted gunsmith, firearms expert, and well known for the manufacture of scale model miniature firearms. In the 1940's and 1950's Texas gun collectors haunted Tom Weston's store, purchasing such iconic pieces as the famed "Thumb Print Walker" Colt, serial number 1078 and discovered by Tom (sold in 2014 for $475,000), or, as depicted in these photographs an entire range of Colt firearms, such as cased sets, identified Texas Colt revolvers 1836-1839, pocket colts, 1839-41, Baby Colts 1839-41, Texas Conversion 1836, and the 1845 Walker Patterson Colt. Two photographs show the historic Belgian double action and double barrel 18-shot Pinfire Revolver for Emperor Maximilian, serial No. 1476, who was executed in 1867 by firing squad. Another photo No. 131-A shows a pistol engraved for General Antonio Lopez de Santa Ana below the barrel in front of the trigger, quite similar to the storied pair now housed in Texas. In addition, these images show for sale a chased flintlock rifle made in 1810 from the war for Mexican Independence, with ownership name on the stock of Jose Maria Morelos y Pavon; a flintlock pistol made by Claude Niquet (ca. 1740-1770) in stock at 2500 pesos; a flintlock pistol given in 1851 to Francisco Samanieago with maker's mark of Bermann Mars, Cal. 9 on the barrel. A few of the images depict miniature artillery pieces, gun carriage, ammunition case, and working trunnion complete with ramrods & shells with label marking one as Canon de A 8 No. 2, Chapultepec Julio. No similar photographs, or photograph archives located.

This fascinating collection of ori…ginal Boyertown Coach & Body Works photographs showcases a wide range of commercial and government trucks built on Ford 1 ton, Chevrolet 3600, and Dodge chassis, engines & cab platforms. These images include many different food trucks, including those for hauling pretzels, vending machine supplies, bread, baked goods, portable donut trucks, and more. The photographs include those showing the trucks with operators, drivers, as fleets, and in one series a set of special semi-trailers built and designed for the Swift Centennial Merchandising Caravan, best known at the time for their Swift Meats for Babies, Norman Rockwell advertising campaign. Founded originally as the Boyertown Carriage Works by Jeremiah Sweinhart in 1872, the company would eventually begin producing their first commercial truck bodies in 1914 -- D.S. Erb & Co. Castle Hall Cigars wood body truck. Later the company was reorganized in 1926 by Frank Hafer (1883-1968), W. Howard Swarts & George Hoffman to specialize in metal-framed truck bodies. After 1934, Paul Hafer, Frank's son became president and by 1949 secured the contract for producing parcel delivery truck bodies for USPS, and introduced their Ford-based merchandiser body. In addition, the company became well-known for their specialized civil defense & fire rescue bodies, as well as mobile canteens and catering trucks. [An uncommon factory photo archive for the Chrysler Corp. design group and concept cars on the eve of the 1979 bailout, featuring primarily designs for the 1978 & 1979 Chrysler 300, as well as the Dodge Charger (a re-badged Mitsubishi Galant Lambda), Chrysler Cordoba, Chrysler Newport, a rally car racing version of the Dodge Omni, and even a very early proposed concept design for the Dodge Minivan which would transform the U.S. auto market in the 1980's].

In den Warenkorb4to. 103 colour and black & white photographs, sized 8 x 10 in., w/ nearly all featuring inventory numbers on versos, many w/ concept artist's identifying marks at lower fore-edge of images, all w/ 3-hole punch at upper fore-edge. Black vinyl 3-ring binder, manuscript label on spine, w/ 1 sheet of manuscript tucked-into front co…ver entitled "Image Studies," rounded corners (slight shelfwear, light toning to leaf of manuscript), NF exemplar. A fascinating Chrysler Corp. Design Group photo archive documenting the development of the full scale mock-ups and designs for the 1978 & 1979 Chrysler 300, Chrysler Cordoba, as well as the rebadged Dodge Charger, early concepts for the Dodge Minivan 5 years before introduction, and the under appreciated Dodge Omni rally car. Many of the Chrysler concept car designs included here are signed by such artists as Svensen, Kreiling, and the famed Stewart Reed. The album opens with concept car designs for the 1979 Chrysler Cordoba 300 offering views of a concept car mock-up not only featuring a split between two different designs, but also different wheels, as well as views of the designs littering the walls and ceilings of the Chrysler Corp. Design Group studios. It also shows the nascent red & blue pinstriping on silver when the eventual production model featured that on a white background. Also shown are the development photos for the rebadged Dodge Challengers and Dodge Chargers, basically reusing the Mitsubishi Galant Lambda as a base. Many of these Chrysler/Dodge/Plymouth Mopar concept cars are shown with a variety of artists' renderings for Targa tops, sleek modern lines, and colours which unfortunately for Chrysler never made it into general production, because if they had Chrysler may not have needed the 1979 bailout by the US Government. Of particular interest are the artists renderings of a 1978 Dodge Omni as a rally car, and two very early concept designs for the Dodge/Chrysler minivan project led by Stewart Reed. The unsung Dodge Omni and Plymouth Horizon developed by Chrysler's European Division were Chrysler's first front-wheel compact car beating the K-Car to market by over three years, and with its' handling and popularity even received the attention of Carroll Shelby who worked to convert them into true performance race cars. The Minivan would remake the American auto market from the time of its eventual production introduction in 1984, revive the fortunes of Chrysler, and spawn many competitors such as the Chevrolet Astro, Ford Aerostar, Toyota Previa, and many others. Reed worked in Chrysler's design group from 1971 to 1980 as part of the initial Minivan design team, then Toyota's Calty Design Research Inc. in Newport Beach, CA, and after 1994 operated his own design studio in Plymouth, MI creating such concept vehicles as the 1998 Gear Box SUV and the 2001 Cunningham C7 Car.
