Two volumes, 80, 645; 7, 720pp., contemporary green half morocco, marbled boards, a.e.g. Engraved titles and portraits (dated 1839) foxed, but a handsome set. Darley reluctantly supplied the introduction at short notice when it became evident that Southey, Moxon's first choice, was unequal to the task. Of little textual value (it was soon superseded by Dyce's edition) but important for Darley's long introduction, which has never been reprinted.
