Simultaneously published by William Heinemann Ltd in 1933, here are the reprinted hardback versions of George Moore's HAIL AND FAREWELL trilogy AVE, VALE and SALVE (Uniform Edition). Volume 1 (Uniform Edition Volume 8) 283 superb hand cut pages, vibrantly marbled boards, half brown cloth binding, black lettering against white text inserts, the book is in good condition with some light rubbing to the spine and boards and some general spotting to the extreme outsides of the page edges and to the end papers. There is also the name of a previous owner (the esteemed Oxford scholar and Hertford College fellow Tony Cockshut) written in pencil to the front free end paper. Tony has also made a few pencil marks in the borders and a few pencil notes to the front free end paper. A bookplate attached to the front paste down at the front of the book shows us that this trilogy (excitedly) once belonged in the private collection of the Poet Laureate John Masefield. Volume 2 (Uniform edition Volume 9) VALE and Volume 3 (Uniform edition Volume 10) SALVE are in identical condition to the first volume. This super, uniquely provenanced trilogy is rather heavy combined and therefore additional postage MUST be applied to areas OUTSIDE the UK as follows: Europe £10, Rest of the World (excluding Canada) £15, Canada (which has a grotesque Royal Mail rate for items over 2kg's) £45.
