Unbound. Zustand: Near Fine. Broadside. Folio sheet, printed recto only. Measuring 8½" x 22". Folded and with a small and separate mimeograph sheet, measuring 7½" x 3½", laid in. Near fine with a few creases and toned rectangle at the topedge from an accompanying ticket stub paper-clipped at the top. A program for an annual night of dance and music held at New York City's Central High School of Needle Trades, which today is better known as the High School of Fashion Industries. The evening featured a series of performances by students and outside professionals. This program is notable for a performance titled "Lament," which included: opera singer Gloria Davy (misspelled with an "e"), who became the first Black performer in the role of Aida at The Metropolitan Opera; dancer Arthur Mitchell, the first African-American to perform with The New York City Ballet; and choreographer Louis Johnson, a Tony Award-nominee for *Purlie*, who is maybe best known for his work on the film, *The Wiz*, starring Michael Jackson and Diana Ross. A nice early program for a company of important African-American performer coming of age during the Civil Right's Era.
