Buch Erstausgabe
Soft cover. Zustand: Fine. First Pbk.Ed. "Yesterdays is a bawdy, outrageously funny novel of West Indian life, detailing young Poonwa's attempt to launch a Hindu Mission to Canada. Dominating the story is Choonilal, pressured to sell his property to finance this dubious scheme. We meet the motley cast of village characters, and the intrigue is enriched by a wealth of island lore, as everyone gossips and reminisces about their own yesterdays." 110p. This novel was planned as a second book in a series spanning life in Canada and the Caribbean, a plan cut short by the sudden death of the author in Trinidad in 1973.

Buch Erstausgabe
Soft cover. Zustand: Near Fine. 1st Edition. First Printing, first edition of Yesterdays by Harold Sonny Ladoo, a young immgrant to Canada from Trinidad. This book was apparently the second of what was to be a trilogy which was never completed due to his murder during a visit to Trinidad. It is a comedic novel about the attempted launching of a Hindu mission to Canada, inspired by some negative experiences experienced in meeting a Canadian Christian missionary in Trinidad. This is a near fine copy which may be unread, no writing, no reading creases but a slight turnup to upper outside corner and sadly some small coffee splashes on the page edge (see photo). Scarce.
