He has been a solicitor's clerk, a tea merchant, a soldier - serving with a Commando unit he was taken prisoner at the fall of Crete - and a business executive. As a playwright, several of his plays have been produced in arts theatres in London, and he was associated with other poets at the Mercury Theatre, Notting Hill Gate, where his first verse plays were accepted for production. He lived and worked in Turkey for six years, and then spent three years living and writing on the Greek island of Mytilini (Lesbos). He is now resident in Athens but spends a good part of each year travelling in Africa, the Middle East, India and the Far East in connexion with the publication of travel handbooks.'.

Costas Mourselas represented some of the best work produced by the new wave of Greek dramatists who emerged during the stormy years of the Greek junta in the 1960s and 70s. This collection includes five episodes from his extremely popular TV series 'This One and. That One' (1972-73) featuring two tragicomical vagabonds, Luke and Solon, who try to come to terms in their own way with the confusing realities of contemporary life. 'The Lady Doesn't Mourn', a short play in two acts set in an elevator stuck between two floors, traces the breakdown of the status quo of a 'typical' married couple through the catalytic presence of a 'Third Person'.
