Raccolta di sermoni e collazioni per la predicazione composta dal teologo agostiniano Michele Durazzini da Empoli, destinata all'uso pratico dei predicatori degli ordini mendicanti. L'opera si inserisce nella vasta produzione omiletica del tardo Medioevo, diffusa negli ambienti conventuali e largamente utilizzata come repertorio di materiali e schemi per la preparazione delle omelie secondo il calendario liturgico. Il volume fu stampato a Firenze nel 1490 da Francesco Bonaccorsi, tipografo attivo in città negli ultimi decenni del Quattrocento. L'autore, Michele Durazzini da Empoli (Michael de Emporio), appartenne all'Ordine degli Eremitani di Sant'Agostino ed ebbe un ruolo di rilievo nella vita dell'ordine nella seconda metà del XV secolo. Fu predicatore e ricoprì importanti incarichi conventuali: priore del convento di Santo Spirito a Firenze nel 1463, quindi priore del convento di Sant'Agostino a Roma tra il 1465 e il 1467. Nel 1465 fu inoltre provinciale della provincia agostiniana di Pisa. Nato a Empoli nella prima metà del Quattrocento, è ancora documentato nei registri dell'ordine nel 1493. On the whole a good interior condition. - This work is very scarce and several copies we consulted had also missing or blank pages between Folio XXVI and XXIX. - Bound in a large manuscript- leaf with annotated music in black and red (some tears to the spine clumsy repaired; ties gone). - Verso last leaf fine woodcut device (13x14 cm) of the city of Siena. - With numerous contemporary annotations in outer margins.
