Buch
Hardcover/gebunden. Zustand: neu. OVP Jacqueline Hassink is a Dutch-born, New York-based conceptual artist whose widely-exhibited photographs deal methodically and precisely with the themes of globalization and economic power. In Table of Power (1996), for instance, Hassink photographed the boardroom tables of Europe's forty largest multinationals while Female Power Stations: Queen Bees (2000) is about the business and domestic environments of leading women executives. The Power Book, the first survey of Hassink's photography, takes the form of a travelogue-the best of her photographs from America, Europe, the Middle East, and Japan are presented chronologically alongside illuminating diary notes and sketches. The Power Book is published to accompany Hassink's major exhibition The Power Show (opening in Amsterdam and Rotterdam before touring internationally). Text Englisch. 100 Fotos. 163 Seiten. Fadenheftung. Großformat 34 x 27 cm. Fester Einband. In englischer Sprache. pages. 27 x 34,5 cm.

Hardcover. Zustand: As New. 1st Edition. 1st Printing. Signed. Unpaginated. Published in 2007. Artist Book. Now considered a contemporary art photography classic. Limited Edition of 3000 copies. An austerely elegant production by Stephen Gill and Melanie Mues: Regular-sized volume format. Brown cloth boards with orange design on the cover and orange titles embossed on spine, as issued. Photographs by Stephen Gill. Text by Iain Sinclair. Printed on pristine-white, thick coated stock paper by EBS in Verona, Italy to the highest standards. Without DJ, as issued. Presents Stephen Gill's "Archaeology In Reverse". One of three conceptually inventive photography books published simultaneously by the artist/photographer (the other two are "Hackney Flowers" and "Anonymous Origami"). "Stephen Gill has learned this: To haunt the places that haunt him. His photo-accumulations demonstrate a tender vision factored out of experience. Alert, watchful, not over-eager, wary of that mendacious conceit, 'closure'. There is always flow, momentum, the sense of a man passing through a place that delights him. A sense of stepping down, immediate engagement, politic exchange. What I like about Stephen Gill is that he has learned to give us only as much as we need, the bones of the bones of the bones" (Iain Sinclair). Firmly grounded in the great British documentary tradition, Stephen Gill's photographs are honest, telling, and brilliant. His conceptual rigor and intelligence, unsentimental empathy for his subjects, and delicate use of color are astonishingly assured (that is, devoid of artistic vanity and self-indulgence) for a photographer who just started taking photographs (in his early 20's) and already has several published collections and one masterpiece (in his early 30's). The "object-in-relation-to-place" motif runs throughout Stephen Gill's oeuvre, and in this book, is especially moving. An absolute "must-have" title for Stephen Gill collectors. This is a copy of the Limited Edition of 3000 copies. It is very prominently, neatly, and beautifully signed in pencil on the title page by Stephen Gill. It is signed directly on the page itself, not on a tipped-in page. This title is a contemporary art photography classic. This is one of few such signed copies of the Limited Edition still available online and is in especially fine condition: Clean, crisp, and bright. Please note: Although it is a Limited Edition, Gill did NOT sign most copies of the book. A scarce signed copy thus. 104 plates. Stephen Gill's "Hackney Wick" was selected as one of the greatest photography books in "The Photobook". One of the most brilliant photographers of our time. A fine copy. (SEE ALSO OTHER STEPHEN GILL TITLES IN OUR CATALOG) ISBN 0954940555. Signed by Author.

paperback. Zustand: Perfetto (Mint). Prima edizione (First Edition). . Perfetto (Mint). . Prima edizione (First Edition). . Book.

Hardcover. Zustand: New in publisher's shrink wrap. First edition. Oblong Quarto. 236pp. Original textured beige cloth with blue stamped lettering on cover and spine. Unusual book featuring photographs taken by German soldiers, offering a different view of W.W.II. "Nein, Onkel: Snapshots From Another Front 1938-1945 is a photographic survey of a different, rarely glimpsed side of life in the Nazi Third Reich. It contains reproductions of 347 previously unpublished snapshots - 308 in b/w, 39 in color - portraying the fun-loving, sexually incongruous and work-shy elements of the German military machine, and challenging the accepted view of evil men in jackboots. Selected from the extensive collections at the Archive of Modern Conflict, these highly personal photographs come from private albums compiled by ordinary soldiers caught up in the conflagration of World War II. They record not the bloody battles, but the fun snatched by those who would rather be enjoying 40 winks, a spot of country dancing or a roll in the hay than fighting" (publisher). The title was listed in Martin Parr's Best Books of the Decade and was the winner of the 2008 Arles Historical Book Award. New in publishers shrink wrap.

Perfetto (Mint). . Prima edizione (First Edition). . Book.

Hardcover. Zustand: New. 1st Edition. Signed by Gill, in pencil, to the title page. Edition of 3,000 copies. Illustrated brown cloth covered boards with the title to the spine. No dust jacket, as issued. Photographs by Stephen Gill. Text by Iain Sinclair. Designed by Melanie Mues. Square 8vo (22.5cm x 22.5cm), pp.114, 104 colour illustrations. From the publisher: "Continuing to photograph where his award-winning book Hackney Wick left off, Stephen Gill has made Archaeology in Reverse in his cherished area in East London. Still making pictures with the camera he bought at Hackney Wick market for 50p, this time he focuses on things that do not yet exist. This magnificently produced book features traces and clues of things to come in a poetic, sometimes eerie and quiet photographic study of a place in a state of limbo prior to the rapid transformation that this area faces during the build-up to the Olympics in 2012.". Prima edizione (First Edition). .

4to. pp. 88. . Perfetto (Mint). . Prima edizione (First Edition). . Bisognava infatti stare attenti a pietre pericolanti e a raccordi allentati intorno a tubi e grondaie.
