Original calf binding with raised bands and some nice tooling front and back. Gilt title on old red label on spine. Binding is sound with some splitting of the leather near the top of the spine. Rubbed. Contents clean and crisp with the expected occasional brown discolouration. "!William Tong s most widely known work is this biography of Matthew Henry. It contains, in passing, some interesting comments on situations faced by dissenting ministers." - Prof. D Pailin. A nice old copy of this uncommon first edition.
