Pictorial Wrappers. Zustand: New. 1st Edition. 1st ed. Fine, unread copy in publisher's shrinkwrap. Fourteen previously unpublished scripts from the radio show, "The Adventures of Ellery Queen". Trade paperback "Ellery Queen is the American detective story," wrote Anthony Boucher -- and he meant not only their detective novels, but also their critical writings, their editing, and their appearance on television and the radio. From 1939 until 1948, Lee and Dannay wrote a hugely popular radio mystery show, The Adventures of Ellery Queen, which like the EQ books stopped the action toward the end and challenged the audience to deduce whodunit. From the more than 350 surviving scripts, we have chosen fourteen of the most challenging: The case of the Tontine whose members die off one by one The disappearance of Napoleon s Razor on a cross-country railroad train The case that Sherlock Holmes failed to solve The strangling in a haunted cave with only the victim s footprints leading to the corpse A dying message which seems to name all the suspects The clue of the dead moth and 8 other extraordinary mysteries This book is published in honor of the centennial of the births of Lee and Dannay, and (in the fictional world of EQ), the centennial of Ellery himself. Trade Paperback.

"This Limited Edition of Fortune's World by Michael Collins is one of 200 clothbound copies signed and numbered by the author. Accompanying each copy is a separately printed pamphlet, The Dreamer, a Slot-Machine Kelly Story by Michael Collins. The world of one-armed private investigator Dan Fortune (born Fortunowski) is filled with danger, deceit ---- and striking contrasts. The 14 stories in Fortune's World range from the mean streets of New York City's Chelsea district, to the bleak winter world of Syracuse, New York, to sunny and sometimes violent South America, to Santa Barbara, California, where Fortune now has his office. And the contrasts are not only in the settings, for Michael Collins is aware of the inequitities in modern society, and his stories are dominated by a social conscience rare in popular literature.". Hardcover. Zustand: Very Good. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: Very Good +. First Edition. This is book number 171 of 230 copies in a Limited Edition print run, that has been signed and numbered by Gilbert. It is in very good condition but for the library markings, while the dust jacket is in very good + to near fine condition. One caveat . . . the book is SUPPOSED to have a "carbon typescript page from the author's files of an unpublished television play, The Game Called Justice." This copy DOES NOT have that page attached at the end of the book, where it's supposed to be. It does not have it at all. Neverthless, a very nice copy, of a very difficult book to find.
