A fantastic how to book, the second book in the series. You do need to have read and built that first if you are going to build this, but worth reading even if you are not. It tells you every thing you need to know. The main things stopping me are a wife and a lack of space & time. The other is cold rolled steel doesn't seem to be that freely available any more. At time of writing the main bed section is about £30 online plus delivery a whole lathe of similar size £600 so this is still worth doing. Written in imperial but that is no problem as you make one part to fit the previous as long as you check your conversions are all over or all under you won't end up trying to drill a hole bigger than the piece of metal you are drilling. If this were the standard gce metal work project the UK would not have a skills shortage in engineering. Not that you need it but there is also quite a bit of online help from others who've built these. Most miss the point completely that you start with a hand drill a file and a scraper and end up with a precision machine tool. Ref UU 3. David J. Gingery (illustrator).
