Unfolds to 22" by 17", printed on both sides. Vancouver 'Facts' on rear panel, adverts etc located throughout. Small water stain to lower corner of front panel thus price reduced. Otherwise, clean and unmarked. Undated, c 1940 - First Narrows Bridge is present. This item weighs 15g and qualifies for inexpensive Lettermail postage both to Canada [$4-5], the USA and other parts of the World.

No Binding. Zustand: Very Good Plus. Commercial Invoice from the David Spencer Department Store on Hastings Street. Small vignette of the old store - building still extant - to top right corner. Note the small Eaton Co. rubber stamp just below the Spencer title. This Invoice dates from the times that Eaton's took over the David Spencer operations. [32] pp. Photographic cover, spine twice stapled, gift inscription to title-page to the lower corner, and light wear at the spine head, else clean and bright, with photographs printed to the recto and verso, mostly attributed to Leonard Frank.

Blind stamp to title page otherwise unmarked with heavy wear and soiling. Binding intact. Not pretty but a rare surviving example. ; 24mo.

Spiral Bound. Zustand: Good. Illustrated by Maves, Gus A.; Et al (illustrator). First Edition. pp. [42]. "Commemorating the visit to Victoria [B.C.] of their majesties King George VI and Queen Elizabeth." - front cover. This visit took place in May 1939 as part of a major North American tour at a time when another major war in Europe seemed imminent. Queen Elizabeth II took part in the tour and is said to have 'lost her heart to Canada and Canadians' as a result. Oblong 9" x 12". Each page contains a black and white reproduction of a photo of a noteworthy site in the Victoria region or up-island. Some noteworthy details include angle parking on Douglas and Yates, jaunty men's golf fashions of the day, a marvelous view of Saanich farm lands from Mount Douglas, the Italian gardens and residence of Mr. Butchart, tall timber along Cowichan Bay Road, the Malahat Drive alongside Goldstream, and a day's catch of huge fish near Victoria. Unmarked with moderate wear. A quality copy of this excellent memento and snapshop of life in Victoria and on Vancouver Island in 1939.
