No Binding. Zustand: Good. This is a magic Lantern Slide, a hand-colored positive photographic image on glass - 3.25" X 4". It shows THE ARREST, a scene from a Sherlock Holmes story, THE ADVENTURE OF THE DANCING MEN (although the hand-lettered title is "Death of the Drunkard"). This Slide was probably created in the late 19th century. GOOD condition. The image is clear, but the tape around the outside of the slide has been replaced.

Zustand: Fine. 7.5 x 14.5 cm. metal desk calendar with individual leaves for Dec. 1938-Dec. 1939 printed in red and brown. Dec. 1938 has an illustration of a stagecoach and horses in a winter scene. The others each have the main month in the center with smaller versions of the previous and following months on either side. With the original envelope, which has a small Christmas illustration on the front in red and green. Williams, Brown & Earle was established in 1890 by Henry S. Williams, N. Howland Brown, & Morris Earle, specializing in math instruments; the next year they registered a patent for eyeglasses and by 1899 were advertising optical, photograhic and scientific instruments. In the early 20th century they sold a stereopticon, popularly known as a magic lantern, but by the 1930s they were focusing on strictly scientific instruments. Calendar is in Fine Condition: never used; clean and bright. Envelope is in Very Good- Condition: lightly soiled; small tear.

Hardcover. Zustand: Good. Fourth Edition. Oblong 12mo. 64 pages. Hardcover bound in brown cloth. The binding shows some wear and dust-staining but is sound with secure inner hinges. The text is unmarked. The book collates complete with all folding plates, but the book was published with plates 9 through 20. The text also discusses only plates 9-20. Presumably, plates 1 through 8 were in the Beginner's Course, published separately.

Hardcover. Zustand: Very Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. Green cloth covered boards with gilt lettering to the spine. This copy is VG. Ex-Library from the University of Cincinnati with the usual markings but fairly unobtrusive. SCARCE, as this is the only copy found on ViaLibri as of July 2024. Exterior is moderately rubbed to spine ends. Scattered surface scratches to rear. Gilt is bright. Inside text is unmarked, crisp, and firm. Minimal toning to semi- glossy paper. Rear EP is missing.

Zustand: Good. Album of photographs (circa 1900) 20 2"x3" original photographs of landscapes and scenery at Watkins Glen, N,Y. in framed mounts on 10 pages. The last page, with frames empty, leaves room to add four additional photographs. Oblong small folio. Two color cloth, red with heavy gilt vine floral decor, brown with gilt title. Photographs all in very good condition. The album covers show some wear and chipping around edges. Good. Record # 219954.

The first edition, highly critical of France. Walsh was a Baltimorean who published in 1811 "the first quarterly that was issued in the United States, 'The American Review of History and Politics.'"
