Erstausgabe
Hardcover. Zustand: Very Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. EARLHAM THE STORY OF THE COLLEGE 1847-1962 OPAL THORNBURG 1963 1ST EDITION. Earlham College is a private liberal arts college in Richmond, Indiana. The college was established in 1847 by the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) and has a strong focus on Quaker values such as integrity, a commitment to peace and social justice, mutual respect, and community decision-making. I am pleased to offer this comprehensive history of the College titled: "Earlham-the Story of the College 1847-1962," by Opal Thornburg. This rather large hard cover book (7 ¼ x 10 ¼ x 1 ¾ inches, 484 pages) was published by the Earlham College Press, dated 1963 and a First Edition with the same date on title and copyright pages. The book is bound in maroon boards with gilt title on cover and spine. The book is very well illustrated with an array of b&w photos from vintage to modern in four different segments within the book. Laid-in or rather clipped-in (with a paperclip) is the card of the Vice President for Development. Condition: This book is in very good condition. There are a few blemishes to the covers, nothing exceptional and some shelf wear on the bottom edge along with some slight bumping to corners and spine tips. Inside, the paperclip has started to rust and will leave a mark on the pages it touches. I left it in place for the new owner to decide how to remove it or not. The interior pages and plates are clean and bright throughout. Both hinges are intact, and the binding is tight, sound and square. This book is not ex-library or a remainder.
