This boioklet contains three short studies of John Wesley Powell's explorations of the West. The titles are W.L. Rusho's Powell's Canyon Voyage, John Young's The Grand Canyon, and Powell's own The Hopi Villages. The chronology of the pamphlet, publeshed in 1875, combines events from several trips, making the narrative a bit more interesting and confusing. Illustrations in the text are from his original article as it appeared in Scribner's Monthly, volume 10, 1875, and other articles. Proceeds of the sale of this book benefit environmental education and restoration.
