Soft cover. Zustand: New. 1st Edition. First edition, first printing. Signed in pencil on the first page by Horn. Soft cover. Photographically illustrated wrappers with French folds. Photographs by Roni Horn. Designed by Roni Horn. Unpaginated (124 pp.), with 120 black and white plates printed full-bleed on fine matte paper by Steidl. 9-7/16 x 9-7/16 inches. New. From the publisher: "In this collection of 120 black and white photos, Roni Horn takes us on a journey through a locker room in Reykjavik, Iceland. With minimal movement between the camera and subject in succeeding frames, and through the use of a slow-shutter technique, this finely crafted body of work provokes the viewer to contemplate the subtleties of each image. A blur behind a portal suggests that someone else is in the locker room with the viewer. Room numbers, open and closed doors, and intersecting hallways give clues to the surroundings, and as we turn each page of the book, we sense the subtle shifting of time and space in photographs that reflect a sculptor's attention to the details of surfaces, repetition, and form." hardcover. Zustand: Perfetto (Mint). Disegni in bianco e nero di Augustyniak Mathias. Poesie di Stephanie Cohen su pagine di carta acetata, in inglese e francese (traduzione in inglese di Michelle Noteboom) Copertina fustellata. Design: MM, Parigi. Esemplare n. 293. 4to (cm 38x28,5). pp. 52. . Perfetto (Mint). . Prima edizione di 700 esemplari numerati (First edition of 700 numbered copies). . "Désir d'une femme pour un homme - poèmes futiles" can be read as an intimate conversation between a man and a woman in words and images. It is also a collection of poems and drawings that began, strangely enough, with a fashion story. In the hand of Mathias Augustyniak, drawing is a powerful and introspective tool?a link between hidden worlds. The sexually explicit yet playfully child like drawings gathered here, track the path of that journey?a very personal, though not solitary or self-centered experience. Augustyniak, in turn, passed the drawings on to the French novelist Stéphanie Cohen and commissioned these to accompanying poems. The spare, enigmatic, and highly charged poems, published in both French and English, stand as bodies of work all their own. The drawings don't necessarily illustrate the poems, just as the poems don't necessarily clarify the drawings. The two are in conversation and sometimes even contradiction. Prima edizione di 700 esemplari numerati (First edition of 700 numbered copies). Book.

Erstausgabe
Softcover. Zustand: Very good to fine. First limited edition. 16/200 pp hand-numbered on colophon. Folio (13 x 11 3/4"). 58 folding pages. Original black half-cloth over black wraps, housed in publisher's printed gray cardboard slipcase. First published in 2005, this limited edition ".features nearly two decades of Paolo Roversi's hugely influential studio portraiture. Within the confines of his Paris studio, Roversi photographs subjects in 8x10 Polaroid format, often allowing his images to fade before fixing them to their substrate. His long exposures at close range harness an aesthetic from the earliest days of studio photography, but with a renewed urgency that wavers somewhere between history and apparition. Stripped of the usual accoutrements of studio portraiture, Roversi's subjects push back with a vulnerable intensity that reveals as much of the photographer as of the model. The images collected here function not only as a series of individual portraits, but also as a collective self-portrait of the artist and the place that stands at the center of his work." (Publisher). Slipcase with light wear, small separation at edges but easily repairable. Wraps with very light rubbing, interior in fine condition. Paolo Roversi was born in 1947 in Ravenna, Italy. Getting his start with the Associated Press in 1970 he opened a portrait studio in Ravenna in the same year. In 1973, having met Peter Knapp, the Art Director of Elle magazine in 1971, Roversi visited Paris following Knapp's invitation. Roversi's photographs have been published in numerous publications, including Vogue. He has worked with Polaroids since 1980.
