Hardcover. Zustand: Very Good. This book is a reprint of the original 1923 edition from the Architectural Book Publishing Co. I assume from its large format that its dimensions are true to the original edition. The original preface was written by Owen Wister to which a new preface by Daniel Randle has been added for the new edit…ion. The descriptions of the actual structures themselves appear to have been written mainly by Alfred Mellor. The book is profusely illustrated both by photographs and architectural plans. Although the early 20th century was a time of great architectural innovation, the architecture pursued by Mellor and associates was very much rooted in preserving the traditions of Pennsylvania Deutsche. Our copy is in fine condition albeit for a few tears and some fraying along the edges of the dust jacket. The photo illustrating the cover of the book is false, it is a stock image and until I can figure out how to upload images myself, it will remain there to mislead you. The actual cover is in shades of purple and the dimensions 11 by 15 inches.
