Edmond Hamilton was a prolific writer of science-fiction and horror stories for the popular pulp magazines of the 1920s, 30s and 40s. This book collects nine of his supernatural/horror tales including four that were published under the pseudonym Hugh Davidson. The title tale is novella length. There's an Introduction by Hugh B. Cave and a 1968 essay by Hamilton printed as an Afterword. There was a limited edition of 100 special copies and this trade edition of 1,000 copies. Although the title page says "Illustrated by Jon Arfstrom" there are no illustrations in the book! (Perhaps the limited edition was illustrated?) All you get here is Arfstrom's dust jacket artwork. This is a fine copy of this nicely produced book in a fine dust jacket.
