Worn original full calf binding. Family copy of Skrimshire family with armorial bookplate of William Skrimshaw [Wichbech surgeon 1739-1814] and hand-written list of births and deaths from 1735 onwards. A very rare family name in the UK with references here to the Wisbech area. Only 31 people have this surname in the world. The eminent botanist William Skrimshaw [1766-1829] son of the elder William has his birth recorded on the front end-paper as March 11th.
