The original wraps, while present, are heavily chipped on the edges and spines and show general soiling. Old library label at head of each spine and inside front covers; librarian's notations on the front covers as well. On several volumes, covers are detached but still present. On a few volumes, the spines have been rebacked with cloth for reinforcement, retaining fragments of the original paper backstrips. Large scuff on front cover of 1845 vol., and page edges darkened.
