Thirty-two black and white photos throughout. Blue cloth with black leather label printed in gilt. Front pastedown bears the very attractive bookplate of Florence M. Lankershim. Chapter XLV in this book is devoted to a description of an encounter with Colonel and Miss [Doria] Lankershim in Paris, both of whom were friends and clients of Macdonald. John I. was the son of John Boon Lankershim, the Colonel referred to in the book, and the grandson of Isaac Lankershim. John Boon was involved with his father and Isaac Van Nuys in the development of the San Fernando Valley. Very minor wear to extremities, just a touch of fraying at t/b spine, leather label very slightly rubbed, gilt bright, just a touch of foxing to a couple of plates, else near fine/ No jacket.
