Hardcover. Book measures: 20.5 x 13.5 cm. 90 pages: illustrations (some color). Text in Ukrainian. A very good copy with mild wear to the edges. As of January 2024, only one copy of this book has been located, which is held at the University of Manitoba. Onufry Terentevich Bizyukov (1897-1986) was a renowned Ukrainian painter known for his lyrical style. He was born in Velež, Smolensk region, and completed his education at the Mirgorod Art-Industrial School in 1918. Bizyukov worked as a teacher at the Kiev Art College from 1920 to 1931 and contributed to the decoration of the main hall of a sanatorium in Odessa under the mentorship of M. Boychuk. He was part of the design team for the All-Ukrainian Museum town at Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra in 1926. Despite his artistic contributions, Bizyukov faced challenges, including arrest in 1935 due to his association with the "boychukisty" movement. After living in Kuibyshev during World War II, he returned to Kiev and continued his artistic pursuits, creating paintings ranging from still lifes to portraits. His works have been exhibited in solo shows and are held in various museums and private collections.
